La Porchetta - Mornington, Melbourne

Although La Porchetta is kind of a "fast food" type of pizza chain, with a whopping 80 outlets located in Melbourne alone, the food was decent and definitely of a standard that was above average.

                           Focaccia Ripiena Prosciutto Crudo

This consisted slices of bacon, together with olive oil, basil and mozarella, layered inside the homemade pizza crust. It was a tad too salty for my liking due to the combination of generous amounts of bacon and mozarella, but the large pizza at AUD$16.50 was still wiped clean off its plate anyway. (:

Aussie Pizza
I was initially slightly doubtful of this one. It's not common to find a sunny side up atop a pizza back at home. However, this made for a pleasant surprise. It was good! The egg made the some parts a bit moist, which went very well with the pizza bread on the whole.

Carbonara
Carbonara was average.

Cannelloni Seafood

This Cannelloni was also delish with the seafood cooked in a creamy sauce and encased in the rectangular pasta sheet (with some placed on top also). The prawns and other seafood were a bit small in size, but bearing in mind that this is a resaturant outlet from a fast food chain type, I was pretty content. (:

La Trattoria Cafe - Daylesford, Melbourne

La Trattoria Cafe can be found inside Lavandula, a Swiss Italian Farm. The cafe provides a lovely environment for diners as lavender fields are aplenty and well in the vicinity of the cafe.

Lavender Scones AUD$7.50

The scones here are awesome. You'll find bits of lavender in the scone, providing it with that extra bit of flavour and sweet scent. The texture of the scones are also perfect, neither too cake-like nor too bread-like. The scones go well with the homemade cream and jam, but they're just as good without!

Asparagus, Spinach, Pinenut and Chevre Goat Cheese Risotto AUD$18.50 This healthy dish oozes of goodness. The risotto is creamy yet there is added texture from the pinenuts, spinach and asparagus, giving each mouthful a nice bite to it. A refreshing change from the usual risottos we get. (:
Organic Duck Maryland AUD$27
The duck is layed atop a field mushroom and served with roasted potatoes and wedges of blood orange. Complementing the duck is a brandy sauce that completes the dish nicely.
